Original Oil painting by Will Astley Maberly This painting was inspired by two catastrophic losses in my life, two years apart almost to the day, first my Brother and then my friend. They were men amongst men, my mentors and my friends. Both of them were so deeply touched and mesmerized by Elephants and nature as a whole, they spent much of their lives in the bush. This picture symbolizes their departure to paradise, being led off to a different place, a place of peace, back to nature in the deep red sunsets of Africa, where we will all meet again.
